Once you’ve awoken to a hearty Irish breakfast, you will be escorted to your first trip of the day at the legendary Old Course, Ballybunion Links.

The Old Course at Ballybunion is a classic links course, renowned for its unpredictable sea breezes and undulating terrain. Each hole weaves through towering dunes and offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The natural contours of the land dictate the layout, with blind approaches and sharp doglegs that demand strategic play.

You will then visit O’Shaughnessy’s Pub and after a day on the links is is like stepping into the warm, welcoming embrace of traditional Irish culture. This quintessential Irish pub, nestled in the heart of Limerick, offers an authentic slice of local life.

As you enter O’Shaughnessy’s, you’ll likely be greeted by the lively buzz of conversation, a hallmark of a beloved local haunt. Your first activity of the day will be a trip to the legendary Old Head Golf Links. The course itself is a par 72, offering a challenging yet rewarding game for golfers of all levels. The lush, meticulously maintained fairways and greens complement the rugged coastal beauty. Old Head’s signature holes, like the iconic 4th and 12th, provide dramatic cliff-edge tees and greens that are as thrilling as they are picturesque. A round here is more than just golf; it’s an encounter with nature, luxury, and the ancient game at its most sublime.

After your round of golf, you will then be chauffeured to the quaint town of Kinsale where you will explore its history and discover its charm. Day 4Killarney Golf Club, Killeen Course

After a filling breakfast at the Trident Hotel, you will be escorted to the legendary Killarney Golf Club. Playing here is an experience that combines challenging golf with breathtaking scenery. As the flagship course of Killarney Golf & Fishing Club, Killeen has hosted the Irish Open on four occasions, a testament to its quality and the challenge it presents.

The backdrop of the famous Killarney lakes and the high peaks of MacGillycuddy’s Reeks creates a serene ambiance, making a round here as visually engaging as it is sporting.

After many swings and numerous birdies, your chauffeur driver will drive you to the charming town of Killarney where you will stay in The Great Southern Hotel. Established in 1854, this grand Victorian hotel exudes elegance and old-world charm, nestled amidst 6 acres of beautiful gardens right in the heart of Killarney town. The hotel’s prestigious heritage is palpably felt through its ornate ceilings, antique furnishings, and classic decor.

Guests are treated to a blend of gracious hospitality and modern comfort. The rooms and suites are sumptuously appointed, offering a tranquil retreat with plush bedding and thoughtful amenities. You will then spend dinner at the famous Garden Room Restaurant, famous for providing some of the best-tasting food in the Kerry countryside. The restaurant boasts a bright, airy atmosphere with views of landscaped gardens. Guests can savor expertly prepared dishes that highlight the best of local produce, all served in a setting that exudes Victorian charm.

Day 5Waterville Golf Links, Drive Part of Ring of Kerry Route

Your first activity of the day will be a drive through the beautiful Dunloe Gap where you will encounter raw Irish beauty: sheer cliffs, untamed nature, and the mystical Wishing Bridge. Legend whispers that wishes made here are destined to come true, adding a touch of magic to an already enchanting drive through one of Kerry’s most iconic landscapes. Make sure to have your camera with you, there are few places in Ireland that offer such a dramatic blend of rugged wilderness and folklore.

You will then arrive at the beautiful Waterville Golf Links. The links are set against the backdrop of the rolling waves, with the sound of the ocean accompanying each swing. The course itself is beautifully maintained, with impeccable fairways and fast, true greens that test the skill of any golfer.

The layout demands strategic thinking, with the natural dunescape providing a unique challenge on each hole. The wind is a constant factor, shifting and shaping the trajectory of every shot, making adaptability a key to success.

You’ll then weave through some of the Ring of Kerry‘s most enchanting vistas. Cahersiveen is famous for its history, while Rossbeigh Beach offers a sandy embrace with panoramic views. Killorglin blends tradition with festivity, nestled among rolling hills and serene rivers.

Here you will drive through each of these locations until you arrive back at The Great Southern Hotel.

You will then have dinner at Hannigan’s Bar and Restaurant which is a warm, convivial affair, where the best of local Irish ingredients take center stage in a cozy setting of wood and stone. Friendly staff serve hearty, beautifully crafted dishes from an à la carte menu rich with variety.

As evening unfolds, live music often accompanies the clink of glasses, enhancing the relaxed atmosphere. Whether it’s for a casual meal or a special occasion, Hannigan’s offers a genuine slice of Irish hospitality, complete with delicious food, a fine selection of wines, and the lively Irish spirit.

Day 6Dooks Golf Club

You will play on one of Ireland’s oldest golf courses – an immersive experience that combines the challenge of a historic links course with some of Ireland’s most spectacular scenery. Voted as Ireland’s “Most Scenic Golf Course” in 2020, Dooks offers panoramic views of the Wild Atlantic Ocean and the Reeks mountain range.

Playing here, you’ll navigate a course that has tested golfers since 1889, offering a mix of technical holes that demand strategy and precision. The natural beauty of the surroundings, with water on three sides, provides a serene backdrop to every shot. Celebrated by golfers and critics like Ronan Rafferty and Tom Coyne, Dooks is described as a hidden gem where the golfing experience is as breathtaking as the vistas.

After your round of golf it will be time to satisfy your appetite at the Irish-family ran restaurant, the Porterhouse, promising a cozy and satisfying experience. The menu showcases the finest local produce, featuring Certified Irish Hereford Prime beef, fresh seafood, and inclusive vegetarian and vegan options.

The warm interiors, with comfortable booths, create an intimate atmosphere for diners to enjoy great food, fine wines, and delicious cocktails. The attentive service, adherence to safety and sanitation, and delicious offerings like house nachos, signature burgers, spiced chicken fajitas, and sirloin steak, ensure a delightful dining experience. If you have a sweet tooth, the build-your-own cheesecake with various toppings is a must-try. Day 7Tralee Golf Club

The course boasts towering dunes, undulating fairways, and punishing rough, with tees and greens perched atop cliffs offering breathtaking views of the ocean. Each hole provides its own unique challenge, demanding skill and strategy to navigate the natural contours and hazards.

Playing at Tralee is a place where the game intertwines with nature, and the echoes of history are as palpable as the sea breeze. The club’s facilities, including a practice academy and a well-stocked pro shop, complement the experience, ensuring that every golfer’s visit is memorable.

After a fine round of golf, you will then be escorted to the elegant Mustard Seed Country House Hotel where you will spend your last night of the South West Irish Golf Tour. The property is set on manicured lawns with an orchard and a working kitchen garden, providing a serene backdrop for a relaxing final night of your tour.

The interiors of The Mustard Seed are brushed with Victorian elegance and boutique flair, inviting guests to sink into sumptuous surroundings. The dining experience is a highlight, with the restaurant renowned for its superb cuisine that celebrates local produce and culinary excellence.
